The Youth Consultants from Valley Youth are hosting a park picnic series in support of positivity during these times, and to give young people a chance to meet some new faces from around the area! Time to change that COVID frown upside down with some uplifting vibes.
If you are aged 12-25 and live, work or study in Moonee Valley, join us for a park picnic at Queen’s Park! There will be live music, entertainment, drinks and snacks, and guest speakers by batyr*, who will be facilitating discussion around wellbeing.
This event is the outcome of Valley Youth’s Consultant Project (Phase II). Last year the Consultants engaged with young people in Moonee Valley regarding mental health and wellbeing issues, through focus groups and an online survey.
From the results, the Consultants were inspired to tackle the issue of social isolation and social anxiety, to create an event which would promote positive social connections and invite supported discussion around mental health and wellbeing.

There will be a maximum 50 people at this outdoor event.
*batyr is a ‘for purpose’ preventative mental health organisation, created and driven by young people, for young people. We run programs that help smash the stigma surrounding mental health and empower young people to reach out for support. Our lived experience storytellers share their experiences of going through their own mental health challenges, how they found support, and how they look after their mental health today.
