To celebrate the amazingness of young people and keep you entertained, we’re having a party! What makes this event different? We’re doing this online! 💻

Celebrate the premiere of short films created by the young people of Moonee Valley! Each Monday we will host a watch party on our Facebook at 3pm and for the rest of the week we will share a short film made by an awesome young person.

So get comfy, make some popcorn and indulge in some local talent 🎬🍿😎

This event is brought to you by the Valley Youth FReeZA Committee.

Individuality

Rhys Marks

feral

Alyce McIvar

“feral is a narrative based on the torment of a young woman, Alyce, (played by myself) trying to reconnect with her absent father. The short does not reveal what happened between the two but draws on the heartache of a struggling familial relationship and the lasting trauma it has on both parties.”

About Alyce:
I am very much a beginner when it comes to filmmaking but I have a great passion for all things film – both watching and creating. [feral] would be my first serious attempt at producing a film, every one before has been stuck in pre-production for years and have only remained ideas. With the help of Signal, I’ve recognised that filmmaking is something I could see myself doing longterm and currently, I’m working with my brother to co-write another narrative short. I’d like to think my style will be more distinctive as I continue to produce more films.

Good Memories

Bill Teuma

“My movie is about the theme of passing off memories to each generation. I use a memory book as a symbol for actual memories and we see how the memory book makes its way into each generation. “

About Bill:
Ever since I started drama 5 years ago, I knew I had a passion for film making. I can think outside of the square which is a useful asset when I try making better short films with better editing software and more knowledge in the future. This is my first time making a short film and I would like to pick up on my skills later on in life. When I saw the poster for the film festival on my school’s media room door, I knew it was time to take the first step in my film making career.
