Vaccines help a person’s body to recognise and fight against a virus that can cause serious illness.
When you get a vaccine, your body develops protection against the virus by helping the body create antibodies – special proteins that fight the virus. This protection specifically shields the body from the COVID-19 virus and is called an immune response.
