November 20 is Trans Day of Remembrance.
Trans Day of Remembrance is a chance to honour and remember the trans trailblazers who have come before us, and who have lost their lives to violence, discrimination, and transphobia. Valley Youth invites you to remember those we've lost, celebrate the strength of trans and gender diverse people in the face of adversity, and commit to fighting transphobia to create a better, safer, and more inclusive world for everyone.
How can you get involved today?
Read about trans and gender diverse historical figures who paved the way for young LGBTQIA+ people. The Australian Queer archives have some great information and stories of Australian trans and gender diverse historical figures which can be found at queerarchives.org.au.

October 26 is Intersex Awareness Day! Along with being a day of intersex pride, today is also a chance for everyone in the community to learn how to be an ally to intersex people.
Never heard the word ’Intersex’? Today’s the perfect time to learn!
@intersexaus shares that: “Intersex people form a diverse population with many kinds of bodies, sex characteristics, sex assignments, genders, identities, life experiences, terminology and word preferences. What we share in common is an experience of having innate sex characteristics that differ from medical norms for female or male bodies. We risk violence, stigmatisation and harmful practices because our bodies are seen as different.”
How can I be an ally?
The first step to being an ally is to get reading and learn about the identities, individualities and barriers intersex people may experience and identify with. @intersexaus and @@intersexjusticeproject have some great resources to help you learn more about being intersex and how to be a great ally!
